B.L. Harbert chosen for renovations to Barksdale weapons generation facility

Birmingham-based B.L. Harbert International LLC, a major defense and civilian contractor developing high-profile projects around the globe, received a contract modification bringing to $220 million its award for work on a weapons generation facility in Louisiana.

The contract is for renovations to the facility, which is located at Barksdale Air Force Base.

Work will be based out of Bossier Parrish, Louisiana, and is expected to be completed by January 2026.

The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Southeast, in Jacksonville, Florida, is the contracting agency.

The modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $220,358,986.

Navigator Development

Navigator Development Group Inc., based in Enterprise, was awarded an $8.5 million job for programmatic services support for Program Executive Office Aviation.

Work will be performed in Enterprise, Alabama, with an estimated completion date of March 7, 2027.

Fiscal 2024 operation and maintenance, Army funds; aircraft procurement, Army funds; and research, development, test and evaluation, Army funds in the amount of $8,596,685, were obligated at the time of the award.

 Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting agency.

Axxeum Inc.

Axxeum Inc., Huntsville, was awarded an $8.5 million contract to overhaul landing gear.

Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 4, 2029.

General Dynamics

General Dynamics Mission Systems Inc., Scottsdale, Arizona, has been awarded an almost $492 million contract for work that will be performed in Huntsville and Grand Forks, North Dakota.

The Air Force contract is for work on the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture Ground Management and Integration and operation and sustainment efforts and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2029.

The Space Development Agency, Washington, D.C., is the contracting agency, and the original contract was awarded Aug. 28, 2024.

Huntsville Rehabilitation Foundation

Huntsville Rehabilitation Foundation Inc., doing business as Phoenix, was awarded a $20 million contract for custodial requirements.

The contract provides for custodial services at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado, and Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station.

Work will be performed at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado; and Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, Colorado; and is expected to be completed Aug. 31, 2029.

The 21st Contracting Squadron, Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado, is the contracting agency. The contract was announced Aug. 30.

CAE USA

CAE USA Inc., Tampa, Florida, was awarded an almost $32 million contract for helicopter training support at Fort Novosel, Alabama.

The contract has an estimated completion date of Aug. 30, 2029.

Army Field Directorate Office, Fort Eustis, Virginia, is the contracting agency.  

Great Lakes Dock and Dredge

Great Lakes Dock and Dredge Co. LLC, Houston, Texas, was awarded an almost $66 million contract to deepen and widen Mobile Harbor.

Work will be based out of Irvington, Alabama, with an estimated completion date of April 27, 2025, and continues a series of contracts and work on the harbor requested by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile.

This contract was announced by the DOD on Aug. 20, 2024.
