The U.S. Air Force awarded Huntsville-based Integrated Solutions for Systems, also known as IS4S, an almost $33 million contract modification to a previous award that now totals almost $72 million, for work to enhance a radio communication system at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.

IS4S is providing service for what’s known as Common Modular Software Defined Radio, a radio communication system that uses software, rather than dedicated hardware, to process signals, and is designed with interchangeable modules for flexibility.

Specifically, IS4S is charged with developing “an open, modular communications datalink.”

Work will be performed at Niceville, Florida, and is expected to be completed by May 31, 2028.

The Air Force Life Cyle Management Center, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, is the contracting agency.

IS4S describes itself as an employee-owned C-corporation small business that provides a wide range of engineering and management solutions to government, military and commercial customers.

Founded in 2008, it specializes in systems engineering and integration, software development, open systems architectures, computational physics, additive manufacturing, production and system design agent acquisition.

IS4S has offices in more than a dozen locations, including its Alabama offices in Huntsville, Auburn, Opelika and Redstone Arsenal; and in Florida, Georgia, Maryland and Ohio.
