The U.S. Air Force awarded BK Manufacturing Co. Inc., Arab, Alabama, a $28 million contract to supply it with wings and fins for air-to-air missile production.
The deal will provide wings and fins for the AIM-120X and CATM-120X series of Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles.
Air Force aircraft using the missiles include the F-15 Eagle/Strike Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II.
Work will be performed at Arab, located in Marshall County about 30 miles south of Huntsville, and is expected to be completed by Aug. 27, 2031.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, is the contracting agency.
BK Manufacturing, also known as BK Aerospace, was founded in 1967 and has a long record of working in space exploration, commercial aviation, and with the military.
It produces specialty tools and parts in addition to its engineering and testing expertise.
