The U.S. Army has awarded Huntsville Rehabilitation Foundation, which today primarily goes under the entity name of Phoenix, a nearly $12 million contract for a variety of services on Redstone Arsenal.
The work will include providing personnel for access control, badging/credentials, and mail service.
Phoenix works with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services to provide comprehensive and continuous programs to assist people with disabilities entering, remaining, and returning to the work environment. It has an extensive history of contract work with military and federal agencies on Redstone.
Incorporated and founded in 1973 as The Huntsville Rehabilitation Foundation, Inc., the organization was later rebranded to the Phoenix name.
Phoenix is a 501c3 nonprofit owned and governed by a volunteer board of directors comprised of several local business leaders, professionals and civic leaders who donate their time.
The organization provides employment opportunities through government and commercial contracts in janitorial, grounds maintenance, administrative, reception and badge checking, mailroom, and logistic support services.

Phoenix also operates a manufacturing sector that produces items such as aircraft safety belts, harnesses, fire blankets, and most notably for military veterans the past 25 years, it produces American flags that are used at burials and interment services.
Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, is the contracting agency for the contract announced today by the War Department.
