Avion Solutions Inc., based in Huntsville, landed an $87 million Army contract for engineering and program management services in one of three contracts with Alabama ties announced Wednesday by the War Department.
Avion, an employee-owned company founded in 1992, provides services in systems and digital engineering, program management, integrated product support, testing and evaluation, and modeling and simulation.

Details about the Avion deal did not include specifics about the projects involved, and work locations remain to be determined.
Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, is the contracting agency.
U.S. SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND
Leidos Inc., Reston, Virginia, is being awarded a $27.2 million incentive contract modification for the procurement of All Up Rounds for the AGM-190A Small Cruise Missile program, in support of U.S. Special Operations Command.
Air Force Special Operations Command in March officially unveiled the name of the cruise missile as “Havoc Spear.” It is described as a low-cost, mission adaptable, modular-design cruise missile that can be rapidly produced.
“The primary value of this system is its modularity which provides expanded standoff options for commanders to neutralize a range of threats,” said Lt. Gen. Mike Conley, commander of AFSOC.
All Up Rounds, or AURs, are fully assembled missiles.
The Leidos work will be performed in Huntsville and is expected to be completed by Feb. 26, 2029.
Leidos maintains an Alabama workforce of more than 300 and is expanding its operations in Huntsville.
USSOCOM, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, is the contracting agency.
FOREIGN SALES SUPPORT
DigiFlight Inc., Columbia, Maryland, was awarded a $13.6 million contract modification for integrated logistics services in support of the Apache Attack Helicopter Project Office.

DigiFlight, with offices in Maryland and Alabama, provides end-to-end training covering all aspects of aviation operations, maintenance and logistics.
Work will be performed in Huntsville with an estimated completion date of Dec. 31.
Aircraft procurement, Army funds; and fiscal 2010 Foreign Military Sales (Ashmore and Cartier Islands, Egypt, Kuwait, Morocco, Niue, Poland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom) funds, in the amount of $13.6 million were obligated at the time of the award.
