The U.S. Navy awarded Integrated Solutions for Systems Inc., Huntsville, also known as IS4S, a nearly $48 million contract for expeditionary maintenance and repair facility production.
A Navy expeditionary maintenance and repair facility (or expeditionary maintenance center) is a mobile or forward-deployed hub that provides rapid engineering, equipment repairs and technical lifecycle support for tactical vehicles, watercraft and construction gear.
These hubs keep frontline units like Seabees and divers mission-ready in remote or austere areas.
“By providing our Seabees and divers with a purpose-built maintenance space, we’re directly improving their ability to sustain equipment, respond faster, and remain mission-ready in support of fleet and combatant commander requirements,” Capt. Allen Willey said in a previous Navy announcement.

The contract is for the fabrication of five fully outfitted facilities, consisting of 90 individual expeditionary maintenance and repair container prototype units and four additional fully outfitted container variants.
The facilities with additional container variants will be deployed globally to diverse environments where the government will use them as data collection platforms to validate the expeditionary maintenance and repair facility concept.
IS4S provides a wide range of engineering and management solutions to government, military and commercial customers.
IS4S engineering includes a robotics program and various other services and products.
Work will be performed in Huntsville and is expected to be completed by September 2027.
Navy fiscal 2026 research, development, test and evaluation funding will be used for the contract.
The Navy’s Mid Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center, Norfolk, Virginia, is the contracting agency.
